Homemade Laundry Detergent
3 gallons of HOT water
2 C. of borax
2 C. of washing soda (Arm and Hammer makes a washing soda. Make sure it's not baking soda)
1 bar of whatever soap that you want to use ( I use Fels Naptha)
Grate or cut the soap into pieces and melt in a bowl on top of the stove.
I use a 10 gallon, plastic tub
Pour the 3 gallons of hot water
mix in the borax and washing soda (stir until dissolved)
then pour in the soap!
Let it sit overnight and it will be a soupy, gel consistency. I have gotten many compliments on my clothes and this is what I use!
